Stockholm i mitjons de Nadal

Quina relació hi ha entre Stockholm i el Nadal?
Doncs passejant per Stockholm sense intenció de buscar cap botiga de teles em vaig trobar amb una botiga de decoració que al fons, ben al fons de la botiga, tenien tot de teles de Nadal, i mira que encara no era època nadalenca!
Així que fent-hi una ullada ràpida, vaig veure aquesta roba tant típica d'allà i tant adequada per aquestes festes,
que me'n vaig comprar un retall sense tenir cap previsió de projecte.
I ara, un tros s'ha convertit en part d'un mitjó de Nadal.

Which is the relationship between Stockholm and Christmas?
Walking randomly around Stockholm I found a home decor store and hidden in the back of the shop, 
I found some Christmas fabrics even it was not Christmas time yet! 
So making it a quick glance, I liked this one, typical from Stockholm and perfect for Christmas 
that I decided to buy a little piece without any project in mind. 
However, it has become part of a Christmas stocking.

És d'una botiga que és diu Znogg, al barri medieval de la ciutat.

I aquí els dos mitjons. 

El mitjó vermell és el que em quedava pendent per acabar (aquí).

Els hi he fet un cor amb una puntada decorativa tot i que no s'apreciï gaire a les fotos.

The red one is the unfinished one that I mentioned here.

Not sure If you can appreciate properly in the pictures but I drew a heart with a decorative stitch on them.

Camí de taula de Nadal

Aquest any, la decoració de Nadal ha sigut 100% feta a casa i n'estic molt contenta! 

Aquest camí de taula era un projecte que feia temps que em rondava pel cap (aquí) 

i finalment s'ha materialitzat! 

Dos colors ben nadalencs han donat una mica de color a aquest racó de casa.

and finally it's done!

It brighten up this corner of the house with only two colours.

Guirnaldes de Nadal fetes amb feltre

Ui!!! Que ràpid que passa el temps! Fa just un mes de l'última entrada...

Ara ja començat el desembre, us ensenyo les guirnaldes de Nadal que ha preparat 

la meva germana Núria. Mireu quina feinada!

Els materials que ha fet servir són bàsicament feltre i cintes de colors nadalencs, 

a part dels estris de costura: tisores, fils, agulla i didal.

OMG!!! Time flies! It's been a month since my last post...

So, since December has started, I would like to show you the Christmas garlands 

prepared by my sister Núria. She has been very busy, take a look! 

The materials used are felt and colorful Christmas ribbons and 

the basic sewing tools: scissors, threads, needles and thimble.

Com que encara no tenim l'arbre preparat, hem decorat la llar de foc. 

Ja us ensenyarem l'arbre amb les guirlandes d'enguany!

Since we haven't prepared the Christmas tree yet, we have decorated the fireplace.

We will show you the pictures of the tree once it will be ready!

Ja pot arribar l'hivern!

Ara que sembla que el fred ha arribat per quedar-se, us ensenyo les dues bufandes de llana que he teixit recentment.

En principi havia de ser una bufanda de dos colors però com que sóc novata amb les llanes i no me n'acabava de sortir, vaig decidir fer-ho més fàcil i fer-ne una de cada color sense tants canvis. Sort també que eren llanes gruixudes!

La primera que vaig fer va ser la grisa sempre amb punt dret. Ha quedat una mica tupida i curta, però fa la seva funció!

I la segona, la vaig fer amb el punt d'arròs, vaig anar molt més ràpid i em va quedar més llarga ja que no vaig apretar tant.

Les madeixes de llana les vaig comprar a Boston, a la Mind's Eye Yarn de Porter Square 

i segons l'etiqueta són llanes de l'altiplà peruà i són de la casa Cascade Yarn. 

Ara sí que pot arribar l'hivern de veritat! :-)

It seems that finally cold has arrived! Today, I would like to show you the two wool scarves I recently knitted. 

At the beginning, I wanted to knit a two-colour scarf but since I'm pretty new in this I decided to go step by step and knit two different scarves. Happy that the wool was thick so it was quicker to knit. 

The first one is the grey one and I used the right stitch, it's a little bit short and dense but it works perfectly. And the second one is the black one. Here, I used the rice stitch and I was aware to not tigthen too much so, it's longer than the other.

I bought the balls of yarn in Boston, at the Mind's Eye Yarn in Porter Square and according to the label are 100% Peruvian highlands wools from Cascade Yarn. 

Real winter is here to stay and I won't be cold! :-)

El cosidor de la Casa Masó

La Casa Masó de Girona és una de les obres més rellevants de l'arquitecte Rafael Masó i Valentí. 

L'habitatge és el resultat de la unió de quatre cases que la família Masó va adquirir al llarg del segle XIX i principis del XX 

i que Rafael Masó va reformar i unificar seguint els cànons del noucentisme l'any 1919.

La casa està plena de detalls i la visita és altament recomanable.

Us deixo les imatges del cosidor de la casa, on les germanes i la dona de Rafael Masó brodaven inicials en llençols i jocs de taula dissenyats per ell mateix.

The house is full of details and the visit is highly recommended.

Avui us ensenyo una manera d'aprofitar retalls i aprendre noves tècniques.
Aquesta vegada provant la tècnica del paper piecing.

Bosses i més bosses...

Uns detallets que van viatjar cap a Panamà.

Dues bosses de colors molt caribenys per anar a la platja, per fer la compra, per portar el dinar a la feina... en fi... bosses multiús.

I una tercera bossa feta amb la mateixa tela però més petita per viatjar. 

Personalment, m'agrada molt fer servir aquestes bosses quan viatjo, em serveixen per tot:
per la roba bruta, la roba interior, les sabatilles...
Us les recomano molt per tenir la maleta ordenada!

A few details that traveled to Panama. 

Two colorful tote bags for going to the beach, doing your shopping, taking lunch to work... whatever you can imagine.

And a third one made with the same fabric but smaller for traveling. 

I'm a big fan of these bags when I travel, I use them for all, for my dirty clothes, my underwear, my slippers... 
I really recommend them if you want an organized suitcase!

L'interior està acabat amb la costura francesa.

D'estreno a l'aeroport i al Canal de Panamà! :-)

Rajoles, plafons i socarrats...

Rajoles, plafons i socarrats és el títol de l'exposició d'aquest estiu a la Casa Galibern de Torroella de Montgrí. 

La Casa Galibern és la seu de la Fundació Mascort que gestiona les més de 700 peces de ceràmica 

que Ramon Mascort ha anat col·leccionant al llarg de la seva vida.

És una col·lecció que va des de l'Edat Medieval fins al segle XX.

Em fa gràcia ensenyar-vos que la costura també era present a l'exposició 

i formava part del plafó publicitari de Los adelantos del segle XIX. 

La descripció del plafó és la següent: 

Plafó publicitari (núm. cat. 643).

Barcelona, 1902

73,7 x 73 cm

Plafó format per 25 rajoles.

Es tracta d'una sèrie de rajoles pintades per Ramon Casas sota el títol de Los adelantos del segle XIX, que mostren diversos invents atribuïts al segle XIX. Van ser patrocinats per la revista Pèl & Ploma, dirigida per Miquel Utrillo, com a propaganda de la publicació. A la rajola central podem veure les caricatures de Ramon Casas (amb barba i fumant) i de Miquel Utrillo, així com el nom de la revista.

Tiles, panels and socarrats is the title of the exhibition held at the Galibern House of Torroella de Montgrí this summer. 

The House is the headquarters of the Mascort Foundation that manages more than 700 pieces of pottery 

that Ramon Mascort has been collecting throughout his life. 

It is a collection that goes from the Medieval Age to the twentieth century. 

It's nice to see that sewing was also present at the exhibition 

and it was part of the panel Los adelantos del segle XIX (the advances of the nineteenth century).

la pròpia estructura de la casa, els mobles, les pintures, les exposicions... una bona casa d'indianos.

Cabàs d'estiu

I avui que comença la tardor, us ensenyo la transformació que ha patit el meu cabàs 

per anar a la platja. 

Aquest cabàs ja té més de vint anys i varies transformacions a sobre, 

pobret... li tocava una bona restauració...

No vaig recordar fer la foto amb les flors liles que tenia abans...

El material: retalls, biaix, corda i ondulina.

Per fer les nanses, forrem la corda amb el biaix.

El resultat final

Funda per les ulleres - Segona edició del repte texà

Bon dia!

I avui, segona edició del repte texà organitzat per Ca la Coru i Señorita Palomo.

Amb tanta poca roba texana que tenia no podia fer grans coses, així que de seguida vaig pensar que una funda per les ulleres de sol seria pràctic ja que no en tenia, i dit i fet! :-)

Today is the second edition of the jeans challenge organized by Ca la Coru and Señorita Palomo. 

I did not have a lot of denim fabric so I could not make a big project, but I immediately thought that a sunglasses case would be handy because I did not have one, and here it is the result! :-)

Benvingut estiu!

Encara que oficialment no hagi començat l'estiu, la calor ja ha arribat! 

Tinc ganes de cosir-me roba per l'estiu i per internet vaig trobar aquest vestit que ha sigut ideal!

El tutorial és de La Pequeña Aprendiz i el podeu trobar aquí. 

Està molt ben explicat i ha sigut molt fàcil cosir-lo. Sols he fet un canvi, i ha sigut no posar-hi biaix a la part de dalt ja que volia que em quedés tot el cos cenyit. Estic contenta amb el resultat i crec que l'aprofitaré bastant ja que és un cotó molt fresquet. A poc a poc, vaig perdent la por a talla la roba!
